Students enrolled in certain programs at one of the three partnering institutions are eligible to participate in this program. There is no application process; students must enroll in the course "Humanitarian Studies in the Field" at either Tufts or the Harvard School of Public Health to be considered a member of the Humanitarian Studies program. At present, the Humanitarian Studies program is open for enrollment to students in the following categories:

Rule

Harvard School of Public Health

        M.P.H. and M.S. students

Tufts University

        M.S. and Ph.D. Food Policy and Applied Nutrition students in the Humanitarian Assistance specialization at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.

M.A.L.D. students at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

MIT

        M.S. and Ph.D. students from any department, provided that the applicant presents a letter of approval from his/her department and presents a plan of study that demonstrates it will be feasible to meet both departmental and HSI course requirements. (Please note: MIT students in the Departments of Political Science, Urban Studies and Planning, and the Masters of Engineering in Logistics program do not need to obtain departmental approval.)
